Welcome to Hillary Mondry Counseling

Offering telehealth therapy for Oregon residents

Welcome! Deciding to engage in therapy can be a complex process and I am glad you’re here. The therapeutic relationship is the heart of a productive and healing therapy journey, so connecting with someone you feel comfortable and safe with is important. Please browse my site to see what I offer and whether it could be a good fit for you.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Art Therapist (LAT), and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) offering mental health counseling to individual adults. I use a combination of talk therapy, art therapy, and a focused mindfulness trauma treatment approach called Brainspotting. The modality used in session is dependent on your goals, preference, and comfort level. You do not need to have any artistic experience or skill level to benefit from art therapy, or experience in mindfulness to benefit from Brainspotting! Both offer alternatives to traditional talk therapy, with the benefit of facilitating expression, accessing deeper material in processing, and resolving trauma.

The foundation of therapy is a trusting relationship, which I work to create through upholding confidentiality, keeping sessions client-centered, collaborating with you to create goals and treatment plans, and checking in regularly about progress. In my practice, I aspire to help people feel supported, listened to, and connected in their processing, both verbal and through art making. I strive to create safety for all regardless of sex, gender, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious and spiritual orientations, and socio-economic class. I serve as a non- judgmental guide in helping people identify and explore their thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that they no longer feel are serving a healthy purpose, and then work towards change.

I enjoy supporting people in safely exploring their feelings and developing effective ways of coping. I am experienced in treating anxiety disorders, depression, grief processing, and resolving symptoms stemming from trauma. My style very often includes support in understanding relationship dynamics, boundaries, communication skills, self-worth, and body image.
